KCC has sixteen primary webpages and on this webpage, the goal is to help all businesses and persons interested in or overlapping with the cinematography industry, to be networked together as there is no other singular webpage attempting to link hundreds of local, regional, national, and international resources all in one place.
Our other webpage has upcoming KCC events as well as non-KCC events. We strive to list all cinematography events such as casting calls; premiers; film festivals; job opportunities; etc., to keep the community informed of such events. We welcome you submitting information as it can be a challenge to seek out all of these details.
There are links for casting companies; talent agencies; talent schools, etc., and those folks place a greater emphasis on their specializations than what will be attempted herein. Please view the links to those companies (below). Please see our disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
This webpage will continue to grow as more information becomes available on any motion pictures that have been produced in Kentuckiana (Kentucky and Indiana) since the begining of the motion picture industry. As digital films have greatly decreased the cost of making movies when combined with computer video editing, this means that hundreds of short films are being produced each year within these two states. The reality is that we cannot keep up with the progess. You are welcome to forward information about these new and old motion pictures. This page will adapt to however is best to handle the data whether that be in a chronological, production company, or other structure. If your movie does not appear hear, you have not forwarded me any information about it yet.

MEETING RESISTANCE
A documentary film by Steve Connors & Molly Bingham
The Official DVD is available now!

What would you do if America was Invaded?
MEETING RESISTANCE is a daring, eye-opening film that raises the veil of anonymity surrounding the Iraqi insurgency by meeting face to face with individuals who are passionately engaged in the struggle against coalition forces. It documents for the first time the sentiments experienced and actions taken by a nation's citizens when their homeland is occupied.
This movie provides a unique insight into the people involved in the resistance, this acclaimed film explodes myth after myth about the war in Iraq and the Iraqis who participate. Voices which have been previously unheard - both male and female - speak candidly about their motivations, hopes and goals, revealing a kaleidoscope of human perspectives. Through its unprecedented access to insurgents and clandestine groups, MEETING RESISTANCE is the missing puzzle piece in understanding the Iraq war - not only the toll of our occupation but the mindset behind those who resist.
What people are saying about MEETING RESISTANCE:
"The documentary equivalent of a Seymour Hersh investigative story in The New Yorker. Required
viewing!
-Joe Garfoli, San Francisco Chronicle
"The single most astonishing documentary yet on the Iraq war." -Sidney Blumenthal, Salon.com
"A rare glimpse into the hearts and minds of those who have dedicated themselves to ridding Iraq of its
invaders."
-Ronnie Scheib, Variety
"Daring...Courageous...Enlightening!
Sometimes a film serves as a potent weapon of endangered truth, dispelling official lies and giving voice
to those whose collective pain has been silenced. MEETING RESISTANCE is that film and more, an act of
resistance in its own right to the US war on Iraq."
-Prairie Miller, WBAI Radio
"I spent several years studying and fighting the insurgency at the tactical and operational levels, and I
strongly recommend MEETING RESISTANCE. It provides the best view into the minds and motivations of the
Iraqi insurgents that I have found in years of research."
-Maj. Dan Fickel (Res)
"This film should be viewed by all those seeking to gain an understanding of the
insurgency in Iraq... I cannot recommend this film enough!"
-Walter Purdy, Vice President, Terrorism Research Center
MEETING RESISTANCE has been featured on Good Morning America, National Public Radio, ABC World News, Anderson Cooper 360, This Week with George Stephanopolous, CNN, Democracy Now, Air America, and more!

Walden: The Ballad of Thoreau.
Michael Johnathon, KCC Member, olksinger, author, screen writer and "Walden" playwrite Michael Johnathon of WoodSongs
Old-Time Radio Hour has the airing of his movie on the Public Broadcasting stations above. We are proud of "MJ" and all

WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour (Produced in Lexington, KY, but heard all over the world on public radio and seen on Public TV.
WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour
When the "WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour" began, it was broadcast from a small recording studio with room for a band and
18 listeners, most of whom were hand-picked so the show wouldn't be light on applause. Only one college radio station
carried it, with nearly 500 radio affiliates, public television, the Internet, podcasts, XM Satellite Radio, the number
of potential listeners for "WoodSongs" is in the high tens of millions.
The television version of the show is available to all PBS TV stations nationwide. Not bad for a show that's produced by a volunteer staff and features artists who perform for free. That much, at least, hasn't changed since Johnathon started "WoodSongs" as a showcase for grass-roots musicians who, like him, make their living on a scale much smaller than that of bands filling stadiums.
Michael Johnathon is the writer and producer of Walden: The Ballad of of Thoreau play. It's a documentary film about Thoreau, the main body of the work is the actual high-def production of the Walden play at the Opera House in Lexington. It was filmed by the students at Asbury College. This film will air on Kentucky Educational TV (KET) in April 2009. Check your local listings for times.
Walden Theatrical Play
Somewhere along the line he found time to write a play about his hero, Henry David Thoreau. His theatrical play,
"Walden: The Ballad of Thoreau," is being performed in colleges, theaters and schools worldwide, many in recognition of
Earth Day. The play is an entertaining mix of creative humor and intellectual war between Thoreau and his mentor, Ralph
Waldo Emerson. The setting of the play is the final two days Thoreau spent in his cabin before leaving Walden Pond.
Thoreau is considered America's original "tree hugger" and forefather of our environmental movement. He was a gentle
naturalist, earth lover, author, pencil-maker ... and is the most quoted American writer in history. Yet, when he
passed, he was better known for having helped market the pencil than for a single word he wrote with it.
"In an age of global warming, bio-fuels, hybrid cars and oil wars," says Johnathon from his farmhouse home in Kentucky, "the play can introduce people to Thoreau as well as earth concerns in their own home towns at a time when, frankly, they need it." Over 7,200 schools, theaters and other venues from far away as South Korea, Egypt, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Belgium, Australia, Ireland, Argentina, Syria, England, Germany, Israel, Canada and the across the USA have performed the play. The play has also been produced as a drama in the style of the 1940's and 50's radio plays for broadcast on 600 radio stations, internet broadcasters and XM Satellite Radio. The Walden play is provided free to schools, theaters and public radio and supported by the Earth Day Network, National Environmental Education Week, American Forests, Kentucky Earth Day and EarthCARE Canada. Documentary about Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour
Walden is heading to Public Television nationwide, and you can be part of it! A five camera, high definition TV
production of the play as a public TV special event for Earth Day 2009. Walden will be produced in HIGH DEF in front of
a theater audience at the historic 1,000 seat Lexington Opera House in Lexington, Kentucky on Thursday 20 Nov. 2008.
The production will be edited for public television affiliates nationwide and presented as both an Earth Day Special
Event and a Spring 2009 public TV fund-drive broadcast special. The Walden TV Special will start with a biographical
segment on Thoreau, taped on the shores of Walden Pond. Followed by Michael Johnathon.s performance of the song,
"Walden: The Ballad of Thoreau," the main content of the special will be the four character performance of the final
two days Henry David Thoreau spent in his cabin before leaving Walden Pond, as it happens on the stage of the grand
theater.
Walden on Radio Phase Two: The audio sound track of the live production will be sent to 800 NPR and community radio stations worldwide as an updated 2009 Earth Day Radio Special.
Walden in Schools Phase Three: The DVD and lesson plan package will be made available to schools, colleges and libraries nationwide for use in classroom settings. Why this added feature? Because hundreds of teachers requested the play in schools where performing the play was not practical. Music and arts are being decimated in school budgets, and hundreds of schools wanted to perform the play as a theater event, but simply did not have the means. The DVD of the performance, plus the lesson plan written by the Earth Day Network in Washington DC is a perfect way for students to be reintroduced to the passion and brilliant writing of Henry David Thoreau. It helps celebrate the meaning of Earth Day, it involves young people in the literary arts, and encourages conversation about the environment as it relates to their own home towns.
Walden MP3 & MP4 Podcast Phase Four: Don't underestimate the power or the size of the internet. Our biggest audience for the project will happen after the TV and Radio Earth Day Special when the production becomes available as a FREE public download on millions of iPods worldwide.
Walden is Evergreen Phase Five: This will be the repeat of the TV Special on public television stations nationwide in 2010, 2011 and beyond as well as continued use and distribution of the audio version to NPRand Community stations as an evergreen Earth Day radio special. The DVD and lesson plans can be used year after year, as the production and lessons of the Walden play are as evergreen as the forests Thoreau hoped to save. The four filmed performances of Walden will then be edited to make one pristine presentation for the Walden Public Television Earth Day Special.
There will be two versions of the edit: a) A 58-minute Walden Earth Day Special b) A second edit of three 15-minute segments for use during the spring fund drives of PBS stations nationwide. Friends of Walden - We Need Your Help! We want to the send the educational DVD packages of the Walden TV performance free of charge to as many schools as possible. Nancy Barry's Big Case is an off-beat romantic comedy set on the fictional campus of Summer Falls Community College. In many ways, it pays homage to the Bonita Granville "Nancy Drew" films of the 1930's with a mystical twist. Nancy Barry's Big Case is set in the present day and follows the story of a young college girl, seemingly stuck in the 1950's, who tries to solve the mystery of a lifetime. A woman is wrongly accused of poisoning her husband and Nancy enlists the help of Dave Dickenson and a troubled young girl by the name of Janelle to solve the case.

DEAD MOON RISING News & Forums
Congratulations to Director Mark E. Poole, the creative force behind the award-winning zombie/comedy DEAD MOON RISING (DMR1). Anyone that participated in this event should continue to view the official site for photos, updates, and future casting needs.

Anubis Digital Studios is the first production company to create a hybrid merger of traditional movie production, modern webisode production, and the audience creativity of YouTube.
Anubis produced and released the zombie comedy Dead Moon Rising in early 2008. In less than 30 days, the movie was Fangoria Magazine's Video of the Month. The movie's North American distribution has proven more successful than anyone ever dreamed it would be.
Now Anubis is pushing audience interaction to a level never before seen. Selected winners from the Anubis Digital Quick Bites Horror Film Contest will actually write, cast, shoot, edit, and produce parallel web-series episodes for Dead Moon Rising 2 from the comfort of their own hometown. They will also share in the profits.
The sequel to Dead Moon Rising will be released as free downloads, and advertisements will pay for the production. Anubis is creating the main storyline and video episodes with many of the original characters from the first movie. The contest winners will write and produce their own threads of the series within the framework of certain rules related to the zombie infection outbreak. As the video series nears its conclusion, the separate threads will come together into a finale.
Anyone can enter the contest by submitting one or more 4 to 15 minute horror or horror/comedy videos. Anubis will select 5 production teams based on their ability to create a high quality video with a great story. The selected producers will be given contracts to produce their own thread of the series and share in the profits with Anubis.

IRA & ABBY is a sweet, hilarious, and slightly subversive romantic comedy that examines the issues of marriage, monogamy and whether "I do" is the only path to life-long love and happiness. Shot in Manhattan and written by Jennifer Westfeldt (who starred in KEEP YOUR DISTANCE and also wrote and starred in KISSING JESSICAN STEIN) who stars alongside the likes of Fred Willard, Robert Klein, Judith Light, Frances Conroy, Chris Messina, and Jason Alexander.
